Distance is not an issue either; we will travel anywhere: Scotland, the UK and internationally. We are just as happy on site and in the thick of it as we are in the Project Management tent.
We value our reputation in festivals, concerts and events, and with a small hands-on Management Team you will have the assurance there will be an experienced manager on site. They will coordinate your event infrastructure and get stuck in with the site crews.
We stand by our friendly and efficient service and are delighted to have the many glowing references of the work that we do. Maybe you could be our next, we look forward to hearing from you.
MONTPELIERS, HOPSCOTCH BAR, EDINBURGH FRINGE
Montpelier were planning to draw more of the Fringe Festival down to the west end of George Street by providing people with an eye-catching and unique music venue, bar and whisky experience.
Purvis Marquees were approached due to their experience working in Edinburgh’s city centre and the unique range of specialist structures that they can provide. They were asked to come up with a venue setup that would stand out from a distance and attract people to George Street.
The planned design was based around a 10m x 20m frame on a suspended floor with a large peak in the roof. Fully glazed all round with internal roof linings. Outside there was an extended outdoors raised seating area with a covered performance canopy. AstroTurf was laid on the surfaces with joiners fitting out ramp and step access along with bespoke internal fit out of bar and experience sections.
An eye-catching bespoke venue that stood out from everything else on George Street and provided a lively venue during the day and especially in the evenings.
Essential Edinburgh manage the Edinburgh New Town city centre Business Improvement District. The area covered stretches from Charlotte Square to the new St. James Centre.

Montpelier wanted to draw more of the Fringe Festival to the west end of Edinburgh’s George Street by providing people with an eye-catching and unique music venue, bar and whisky experience.
Through a partnership with Essential Edinburgh, Purvis Marquees were approached due to their experience working on previous events in George Street and the unique range of specialist structures that they are able to provide. The task was to come up with a venue setup that would stand out from a distance and attract people from further down George Street during the Fringe Festival allowing the local businesses to benefit from this world-renowned international festival.
The design was based around a 10m x 20m frame on a suspended floor with a large peaked roof. The marquee was fully glazed with internal roof linings. Outside there was a raised outdoor seating and dance area with a covered performance canopy where people could watch live bands and soak up the atmosphere. AstroTurf was laid inside and out with joiners fitting ramp and step access along with a bespoke internal fit out of the bar and experience sections.
A complicated build was carried out on this busy city centre street involving multiple contractors coordinating with each other throughout the build. It was all worth it with a unique venue and experience for thousands of tourist and festival goers throughout the month of August.
Additional finishes, canopies and outside seating areas were added as the client reacted to the demands of weather and his guests.
Also included within this area was a vintage cinema and a whisky experience telling the story of our famous Scottish drink.
