Introducing – NICOLA DAVIES

Nicola joined Purvis in May 2026 as our events coordinator.  She has previously worked in a wide variety of customer service roles over the years.  With her experience in the hotel industry, the transition to events will be easy, and she will give us another excellent member of our team running events.

How long have you worked at Purvis Marquees?

I joined Purvis Marquees in May 2026.

Where did you work / what did you do before?

I have worked in various jobs and roles over the years, from office work for an electrical contractor, reception and admin for a nail and beauty salon, shop management and most recently I worked for a local butcher, which I had always had an interest in. In each job, I have always strived to learn as much as possible.  With Purvis Marquees, I am lucky to already have some knowledge as I am engaged to our Senior Project Manager James!

Describe a typical working day for you:

Every day starts with tea, which is quickly followed by checking all our email enquiries.  They will determine how the rest of the morning goes.  At other times I am booking jobs in and keeping track of our clients’ requirements and following up with customers from previous jobs.  I am keen to start building customer profiles and relationships.

Best parts of working with the Purvis Team?

Learning something new is exciting for me.  I love getting to know our clients and what they will be using our marquees for.  I thrive on the buzz of busy times in the yard and office when we have a big project on, like the Royal Highland Show.

Biggest Achievement/highlight of your career to date?

Must be my 3 children; over the last 24 years they have kept me busy.  I will hopefully be able to add planning our wedding to this very soon!

What’s your top tip for event organisers?

Have as much information ready before you make your enquiry – every marquee requirement is different.

How do you relax?

I like to watch a box set, walk my dog and read when I get a chance.  I also love a sunny afternoon in the garden or a winter night on the sofa with the fire on.
