Introducing – Jack Botham

Jack joined Purvis Marquees in January 2026 as a Project Manager, bringing a hands-on approach and a strong background in both construction and military leadership. With experience delivering complex projects and leading teams in high-pressure environments, Jack supports all aspects of project delivery, from planning and site surveys through to budgeting, audits and event preparation. He is enjoying getting to know the team and is already building strong working relationships across the business.

Role:

Project Manager

How long have you worked at Purvis Marquees?

I joined Purvis Marquees on 5 January 2026, so I am still very much finding my feet, but it has been a great start, and I am enjoying getting stuck in.

Where did you work / what did you do before?

Before joining Purvis, I spent several years working in construction supervision and site delivery, leading teams on commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK. Before that, I served in the Royal Marines, where I held leadership roles on operations overseas and developed a strong foundation in planning, logistics, teamwork and working under pressure.

Describe a typical working day for you:

At the moment, there is no such thing as a typical day, which is something I am enjoying. As I am new to the role, every day brings something different. That has included client quotations, site visits, budgeting, site surveys, kit preparation for upcoming events, audit preparation and training. It has been a steep learning curve, but a good one.

Best parts of working with the Purvis Team?

I am still getting to know everyone, but the team have been very welcoming, and I am building strong working relationships already. The support across the business has been great, and I would be lying if I did not mention the unlimited supply of coffee. The Nescafé Gold Blend definitely helps keep things moving.

Biggest Achievement / highlight of career to date?

Completing Royal Marines training. It is widely regarded as the hardest infantry training in the world and remains my proudest professional achievement. During my service, I was involved in strike operations against high-value Taliban targets, which led to multiple seizures of weapons and IEDs and the capture of those targets. The experience shaped how I approach leadership, decision-making and responsibility.

What’s your top tip for event organisers?

Quality and service. I always put in 110% with every project I work on and all of the clients I have worked with over the years have valued this, please do not go for the cheapest option as this will always have an effect somewhere down the line.

How do you relax?

Spending time with my partner and daughter and getting outdoors whenever possible. I also enjoy climbing Munros, which is a good way to switch off and reset.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Resourceful, clinical, driven
