COVID-19 EMERGENCY FACILITIES

Situation

Due to the pandemic shutdown our client found themselves in a complex situation. How do they continue to produce much needed food for the UK while comply with the strict restrictions put in place by the government.

Task

Purvis Marquees were asked to design structures suitable for designated areas close to existing buildings. The first was an inspection area before the main security gate so that staff could be checked and their temperature is taken and the second was a temporary canteen suitable for 70 staff that must comply with distancing guidelines.

Action

The inspection structure was to be designed around a 5m x 10m area. Two 5m pagoda structures were joined together with a 2m x 3m screened are inside for segregation.

The canteen structure was designed with two people seated at each and of a table and strict 2m spacing between each person when seated.

All the structures were supplied with flooring, lighting, heating and access points.

Result

A flexible and watertight emergency response solution to ensure that staff are checked for infection before access is granted and the existing facilities are kept as infection-free as possible.
